"Barb’s fluid, subtle and respectful training of both horses and humans is magical to watch. You don’t want to miss this."

- Claudia, OR

For the past six years I have been the fortunate recipient
of Barb Apple’s gifted teaching abilities by participating and auditing
her diversified and life-changing clinics. I really believed that this was truly the best way I could educate myself as well as my horse.
My horses as well as myself thrived with her methods of teaching; not any one way
in particular, but rather her many years of experience
with thousands and
thousands of hours with horses in the saddle as well
as on the ground! But then, because of her uncanny ability to see what is needed
to maximize our learning, Barb started offering her Intensive Series. This consistent learning
“package” literally is proof that “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”.  Truly the reasons for Barb’s first season of Intensives  gigantic success are being able to work on specific
areas with your horse with a lot more consistency, and
then going home and practicing and “processing” what you and your horse
have learned. When you
come back for the next week-end, you reinforce
what you have previous learned as well as share
with all the others on their problems as well as accomplishments!  This cohesiveness with learning, practicing, processing and experiencing all of this with others is much more powerful than I had ever expected.

Because all of the
participants have varied backgrounds(with horses
and with life!) the different input  they all have also
plays a  part of the success
of Barb’s Intensives. (not to mention all the incredible food and hottub-soaking!)

By far Barb’s Intensive is the best gift I have given myself and my horse! I can’t wait
for next year as I am
already signed up!

NOTE: I don’t think you can Mapquest this address yet – as the development is very new, and we don’t receive mail at this address and your GPS may get you to the outside gate, so best to go by these instructions I think for now.

*From I-5 North or South, the easiest route is to exit I-5 at Hwy 512 Exit 127, then use the Steel Street Exit to avoid down town Parkland/Spanaway, Steel St. (turns into Spanaway Loop) parallels Pacific Ave and comes into Hwy 7/Pacific Ave at 176th St.

NOTE:
* From I-5 exit to 512 get in far right lane immediately then exit to Steel St. then turn LEFT onto Steel St. at stop light/sign.

* (NOTE: if you are coming I-5 North you can also exit at Tenino
(see your map) and go to Yelm. When you come to the stoplight in Yelm turn RIGHT down the hill, several blocks down you will pass QFC on your left and Safeway on your right and keep going straight thru next light passing Wal-Mart … after going down a hill the highway comes to another light, turn RIGHT on Hyw 702 to Eatonville. Kinsman Rd. is at mile marker 7 turn RIGHT on Kinsman Rd. Then pickup the directions below at the **

When you come to the end of STEEL STREET:

* Turn South (right) on Hwy 7/Pacific Ave. and drive approximately 12.4 miles to Hwy 702 (Yelm Highway).
* Turn RIGHT (West) onto Hwy 702. Go 2 miles to Kinsman Road.
* Turn LEFT (South) onto Kinsman Road
*Kinsman Road turns into Kinsman Court as it makes a sharp Right turn.
* About ½ mile on your LEFT is a gate with a wrought Iron sign over it that says Willow Lake and a street sign that says Greyhawk.
* At Greyhawk, there is a gate with a touchpad that lets you into the community. (IF YOU HAVE A HORSE TRAILER DO NOT Drive next to the key pad. Park on the left side of drive and WALK to the key pad. The pad has been run into several times.)
* On the touchpad enter 053 and it will ring the phone at my place so I can let you in. The gate should open.
* Go through the gate, and follow the dirt road up the hill, Taking All Of The Right-Hand Choices.
* Stay on that main road, and after about a mile you will see signs on either side that say “Welcome to Highland Meadows”. Getting close! You are now on Highland Drive.
* We are about 1/3 mile further along, on the LEFT hand side watch for Lot 53 . The house number (39107) is at the street on a post to the LEFT of the driveway. The house is green, big pasture and you will see the arena and corrals large double gate at the driveway.
